By way of the present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing No. 364/2023 registered at Police Station Govindpuri, Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Section 376/377/323/498A/506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC'). 2.
Issue Notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. 3.
The petitioners and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court in person and have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Govindpuri, Delhi. 4.
Briefly stated, facts of the present case are the marriage between petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 was solemnized on 05.12.2021 as per The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
Hindu rites and ceremonies. It is stated that due to matrimonial disputes between the petitioners and respondent no. 2, parties started living separately since 17.06.2023. During pendency of the trial, both the parties have amicably settled their disputes vide Mediation Settlement dated 06.09.2025, entered between them It is further stated that petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2 are staying together since October, 2025. 5.
On a query made by this Court, respondent no.2 who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat and that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between them. She further states that she does not want to pursue the present matter including the allegations against her brother in law for offence under Section 376 of IPC. Respondent no. 2 further stated that she has no objection, if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 7.
Considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case and the fact that both the parties are staying together, this Court finds appropriate to quash the present FIR.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 364/2023 registered at Police Station Govindpuri, Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Section 376/377/323/498A/506 of the IPC and all consequential proceedings The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
