The instant appeal has been filed under Section 35 of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 read with Section 528 Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita Act, 2023 against the Order dated 25.02.2025 passed by the Appellate Tribunal under Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act, 1976 ["SAFEMA"] in Appeal bearing No. FPA-FE 07/DL1/2020. 2.
Learned counsel for the Appellant seeks permission to withdraw this appeal. However, he states that the Appellant is not in a financially sound position and prays for an extension of sixteen weeks to make the pre-deposit of Rs. 30,00,000/- out of the penalty amount of Rs. 3 crore, as directed by the Appellate Tribunal under SAFEMA.
