The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent/ Election Commission of India (ECI) to conclude the registration process of the petitioner's political party and grant a registration certificate under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. 2.
Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was called by the respondent/ ECI for hearing in December, 2024. However, after that the petitioner has not heard anything from the Election Commission of India. 3.
Mr. Sanjay Vashishtha, counsel appearing on behalf of the Election Commission of India, has handed over a communication dated 24th April, 2026 in Court, which has been sent to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha, calling upon to get a physical verification of the 20 members whose affidavits have been given by the petitioner along with its application for W.P.(C) 6861/2026 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
