The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:- "Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus thereby directing and commanding the respondents to afford police protection to the petitioners and his family members from "Noted Criminals" MS Jameela @ Neha, her Husband Satya Prakash @ Satya and his Gang members."

Petitioner no.1 claims that he and his family members were assaulted by certain known criminals including Satya Prakash @ Satya, his wife Jameela @ Neha and his gang members. In this regard, an FIR bearing No. 0151/2017 under Sections 336/506/34 of the IPC and Section 27 of the Arms Act, 1959 was registered at the instance of the petitioner no.1 at PS
Nand Nagari. Subsequently, on 07.08.2017, it is alleged that petitioner no.2 was attacked by Satya Prakash and his gang and in this regard an FIR bearing No. 0748/2017 under Sections 308/341/34 of the IPC was registered with PS Nand Nagari. The petitioners further allege that once again on 17.01.2020, petitioner no.2 was attacked by the said known accused and an FIR bearing No. 0031/2020 under Sections 307/34 of the IPC and Section 25/27 of the Arms Act, 1959 has been registered at PS Nand Nagar. 3.
Petitioner no.1/complainant submits that he has been making repeated complaints against the threats being received from Ms Jameela @ Neha and the other gang members of her husband Satya Prakash. He submits that they have been openly threatening the petitioners that as and when Satya Prakash is released they would wipe out his family and him. 4.
It is in the aforesaid context that the petitioners have filed the present petition seeking police protection for themselves and their family members. 5.
Mr R.S. Kundu, learned ASC appearing for the State, states on instructions of SI Subhash Kumar, PS Nand Nagar, that three of the accused persons including Satya Prakash @ Satya have been arrested and are in custody. He further submits that efforts are being made to trace Ms Jameela @ Neha. He states that the action has been taken in regard to the complaints filed by the petitioners. He also states that telephone/mobile numbers of the beat staff and police officials have been provided to the petitioners in order to enable them to contact them in case of any eventuality. 6.
In view of the above, this Court also considers it apposite to direct the the concerned SHO to examine the petitioners' complaints regarding threats received from various persons and re-evaluate the threat perception. The concerned SHO is further directed to provide the petitioners such security as
he considers necessary.

In view of the statement made by Mr Kundu that the complaints made by the petitioners are being inquired into, no further orders are required to be passed in this petition. The same is disposed of. VIBHU BAKHRU, J AUGUST 19, 2020 pkv
