% 20.08.2020 The petitioner is aggrieved by the actions of her father, who the petitioner alleges, in drunken stupor, has repeatedly violated her dignity by physically assaulting her as also by using abusive language. 2.

The details contained in the petition are not being recorded here so as not to needlessly place them in the public domain. 3.

Ms. Harvinder Chowdhury, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that complaints dated 19.07.2020 and 30.07.2020 were made to the police at various levels ; and although some response was received from the local police, adequate action has not ensued. In this backdrop, the petitioner seeks protection of her life, liberty and dignity, by responsive action by the police.

It is noticed that though allegations are made against the father, he has not been impleaded as party-respondent in the present petition.

Issue notice.

Ms. Kamna Vohra, learned ASC appears on behalf of the State on advance copy ; accepts notice ; and submits that complaint dated 19.07.2020 did not contain the ingredients of the allegations now made in the petition ; and complaint dated 30.07.2020 was initially received at the police headquarters and not in the local police station. 7.

Ms. Vohra submits however, that once compliant dated 30.07.2020 reached the local police station, FIR No. 502/2020 dated 14.08.2020 has been registered under sections 354/354B/509 IPC and action against the father is underway.

Ms. Vohra also submits that the local police have visited the petitioner to ask about her welfare; and will be available for help, whenever called upon.

Ms. Chowdhury accepts that the local police has been responsive oflate; but requests that the police should be more pro-active and give effective protection to the petitioner against the wrongful actions of her father.

Inspector Ajay Pratap Singh, SHO P.S.: Hari Nagar, S.I. Shri Krishna and A.S.I. Raj Singh, who is the Investigating Officer in the matter, have also joined the video-conference hearing. 11.

In view of the submissions made, and with the concurrence of Ms. Chowdhury, the present petition is disposed of with the following directions:

(a) The petitioner shall be given the cellphone numbers of the S.H.O. P.S.: Hari Nagar and of the concerned Beat Constable, W/Ct. Chotti, who will be available in any eventuality;

(b) If and when the need arises to visit the petitioner's residence, the concerned police officers shall remain in mufti, regard being had to the sensitive nature of the matter.

The present petition is disposed of in the above terms. 13.
