This petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No. 692/2016, registered at Police Station Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Section 498A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 ('IPC'), on the basis of a settlement arrived at between the parties, which was indicated in the previous order dated 23th April 2025 as well. 4.
There is no written settlement, since divorce decree dated 19th July 2024 has been granted without any alimony. Petitioner nos. 1 and 2 are present in the Court, while respondent no. 2/complainant is present through video conferencing. Both the parties are identified by their respective counsels as well as the concerned I.O. 6.
Respondent no. 2 states that she has no objection for quashing of the FIR.

Both petitioner nos. 1 and 2 as well as respondent no. 2 undertake that they shall not cause any interference in each other's life. 8.
Considering that there has been complete severance by virtue of divorce, the said undertakings are taken on record. 9.
Considering the above settlement between the parties, and the chances of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. FIR alongwith all proceedings emanating therefrom stands quashed.

Accordingly, the present petition stands disposed of. 11.
