This petition has been filed, under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal, which is in seisin of disputes between the parties under a Purchase Order dated 10.04.2015.

The arbitration proceedings originally commenced by an order dated 05.03.2018 in ARB.P. 829/2017 and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal has been extended from time to time. A further extension is required as the learned arbitrator originally appointed, has recused O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 314/2024 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. himself and a new arbitrator has been appointed by order of this Court dated 23.02.2024 in ARB.P. 241/2024.

Ms. Amrita Narayan, learned counsel for the petitioner, states that the matter has been taken up by the newly appointed arbitrator at the stage for final hearing. She seeks an extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by one year for completion of the arbitration proceedings.

Mr. Ehraz Zafar, learned counsel, appears on advance notice on behalf of the respondent, and states that the respondent has no objection to the relief sought.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances noted above, and with the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended for a period of one year from 21.04.2024.

The petition is disposed of in these terms.
