The petitioners have filed this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution seeking protection/security in respect of apprehended threats to their life and liberty.

Issue notice. Mr. Sanjeev Bhandari, learned Additional Standing Counsel, accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos. 1 to 5. 3.
Petitioner Nos. 1 and 2 are married to respondent Nos. 6 and 7, respectively. However, they have been in a relationship with each other, as a result of which petitioner No. 2 is stated to be eight months pregnant. Although the addresses of both the petitioners in the memo of parties are different, it is stated that they intend to reside together at an address which is not yet certain.

complaint dated 15.04.2026, stating that abusive calls and threats to the lives and liberty of the petitioners had been received from unknown international numbers. It is in this context that the petitioners seek police protection.

Mr. Bhandari submits that, irrespective of the matrimonial disputes of the petitioners or the status of their relationship, the telephone numbers of the Station House Officers ["SHO"] and Beat Constables having jurisdiction over their places of residence will be provided to them so that they may be contacted in the event of any exigency. He further submits that the police is inquiring into the complaints made by the petitioners and will take necessary action in accordance with law. 6.
Mr. Prashant Mendiratta, learned counsel for the petitioners, submits that, in addition to the above, the petitioners wish to make an application for police protection at their own cost, under Section 38(2) of the Delhi Police Act, 1978 ["Police Act"].

Having regard to the aforesaid submissions, this writ petition is disposed of with the following directions:
A. The telephone numbers of the jurisdictional SHOs and Beat Constables at the places of residence of the petitioners shall be provided to them. In the event either of the petitioners, or both of them, shifts to a new residence, the address of the new residence may be forwarded to the concerned SHO, who shall inform the SHO of the police station having jurisdiction over the prospective address, regarding these directions.

the same to their logical conclusion in accordance with law. The rights and remedies of the petitioners in this regard also remain reserved.
C. In the event the petitioners make an application under Section 38(2) of the Police Act, the same shall also be considered in accordance with law.

It is made clear that this Court has not issued notice to respondent Nos. 6 and 7, and this order has been passed without prejudice to their rights and contentions. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as an expression on the veracity of the allegations made against them by the petitioners.

As no further orders are sought in this petition, the writ petition, alongwith the pending applications, stands disposed of.
