The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent no.1/ MCD to ensure that the Senior Citizen Recreation Centre at Eros, Jangpura Extension is accessible to all eligible senior citizens of Jangpura Extension.

It is stated on behalf of the petitioner that some of the residents have unauthorizedly locked the gate of the said Centre, and are denying access to the petitioner. In this regard, a representation dated 31st March, 2026 has been made by the petitioner.

In the opinion of this Court, few residents cannot put their own locks in the Centre, which is meant for the general use and good of all the senior citizens residing in the locality.

In view thereof, a direction is issued to the Director, Community Service Department, MCD to decide the aforesaid representation filed by the petitioners, within one (1) week from today and ensure that access to the said Community Centre is not denied to any eligible senior citizen residing in the locality.

The present writ petition, along with the pending applications, stand disposed of in the above terms.
