The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent nos. 1 to 4 to provide them adequate security and protection. The petitioners fear for their safety from respondent nos.5 to 9. The petitioners state that they have married against the wishes of the family members of petitioner no.1. The petitioners state that the father of petitioner no.1 (respondent no.9) is a known BC of the locality and has issued threats to the petitioners.

against respondent nos. 5 to 9, however, no action has been taken. 4.

Mr Avi Singh, learned ASC appearing for the State submits that efforts were made to contact the petitioners but they could not be contacted. 5.

In view of the above and in view of the averments made in the present petition, this Court considers it apposite to direct the petitioners to appear before respondent no.4 (SHO, PS Bhalswa Dairy) on 26.08.2020 at 10:30 AM. Respondent no.4 is directed to examine the complaints made by the petitioners and evaluate their threat perception. He is further directed to take such action as he considers necessary and ensure that the petitioners are protected from respondent nos.5 to 9. In the first instance, he shall provide telephone numbers of the police officials including the beat staff in order to enable the petitioners to contact them in case of any eventuality. It is further directed that concerned SHO shall also examine whether any FIR is required to be registered and if so take such steps as required in accordance with law. 6.
