This writ petition is preferred by the Petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a direction to the Respondents to supply clean water on regular basis through the Delhi Jal Board pipeline to the Petitioners at Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Raj Nagar-2, Palam Colony, New Delhi.

Status report has been filed on behalf of the Delhi Jal Board and relying on the same, learned counsel submits that initially a tender was floated for laying down the water line between the Chotu Ram Marg to Kali Mata Mandir Marg, which was old and leaking and the tender did not materialize. Subsequently, another tender was floated on 26.12.2023, but no bidders or contractors came forward to bid. floated on 01.03.2024, pursuant to which, work order No. 222 dated 16.03.2024 was issued to M/s. S.K. Construction Co. However, due to the Model Code of Conduct being imposed on the same day for General Elections for Lok Sabha-2024, work could not be started. 4.

It is stated in Paragraph 4 of the status report that the work of laying new line has been completed and the residents are being supplied with fresh clean water. In addition, on receipt of any complaint with regard to nonsupply of water, the same is being supplied regularly through DJB Tankers in the area. Site plan showing the completion of work is appended to the status report as Annexure-G.

In my view, in light of the status report, the grievance raised by the Petitioners stands redressed. Writ petition is accordingly disposed of. 6.

Needless to state in case of any further surviving grievance, it will be open to the Petitioners to take recourse to legal remedies. 7.

The Executive Engineer is present in Court, albeit, it must be put on record that vide order dated 04.11.2022, the Chief Engineer was directed to remain present.

Pending applications stand disposed of.
