The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the respondents to grant protection to the petitioners. 3.

The petitioners state that they are living together and intend to get married. The petitioners state that the family members of petitioner no.1 are opposing the said relationship as the petitioners do not belong to the same caste.

The petitioners further state that certain other members of the community of petitioner no.1 have also issued threats to the petitioners. In particular, the petitioners apprehend harm at the hand of respondent nos.3 to 8.

Mr Lao, learned ASC appearing for the State submits that telephone numbers of beat staff have been given to the petitioners in order to enable the petitioners to contact them in case of any eventuality. 6.

In view of the averments made in this petition, this Court also directs respondent no.2 (SHO PS Pul Prahladpur) to evaluate the threat perception and take such steps as he considers necessary to ensure that the petitioners are not harmed in any manner. Respondent no.2 shall also consider any complaint, if any, made by the petitioners and take such steps as are warranted in accordance with law.
