This petition is preferred on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('1996 Act') seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal to complete the arbitral proceeding and pass the Arbitral Award. 4.

Disputes having arisen between the parties in relation to Tender bearing No. PP14Pl30479 for construction of Boundary Wall at 220 KV Grid Substation, South of Wazirabad, Delhi and Agreement dated 11.04.2017, Petitioner filed a petition in this Court under Section 11(6) of 1996 Act, being ARB. appointed to adjudicate the disputes.

It is stated that the learned Arbitrator entered upon reference on 21.05.2023 and on expiry of the initial statutory period, the mandate of the Arbitral Award was extended by 06 months with mutual consent of the parties, which expired on 24.04.2025. It is further stated that the proceedings are at the stage of Respondent's evidence and mandate be extended by 12 months.

Ms. Chetna Rai, learned counsel for the Respondent accepts notice and, on instructions, submits that the Respondent has no objection to the extension of mandate of the learned Arbitrator. 8.

Accordingly, with the consent of the parties and considering that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of Respondent's evidence, mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of 09 months from 25.04.2025. 9.

Petition is allowed and disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
