Rahul Mehra, learned Standing Counsel (Criminal) appearing on behalf of the Delhi Police, on instructions from SI Sumit, states that, an FIR No.283/2019 under Section 365 of Indian Penal Code, 1860, in relation to Maya Mariyam, the mother of the petitioner; Sunita, the wife of the petitioner's step brother Ashish; and the latter's children namely Alvina and Marya, aged 6 years and 4 years respectively, has been registered in Police Station Bhalswa Dairy, New Delhi, on 25.05.2019 and investigation is currently underway.

It is further stated that, a final report, in accordance with law, shall be filed expeditiously, before the Court of Competent Jurisdiction.

The Delhi Police is directed to comply with the aforementioned undertaking, without demur. In view of the foregoing, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, on instructions from the latter, who is present in person, does not press this petition, at this stage. The present petition is accordingly dismissed as withdrawn and disposed of.
