The present writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (formerly Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973) assails order dated 17th March, 2025 passed by Respondent No. 2, whereby the Petitioner's request for grant of 1st spell of furlough was rejected. Additionally, the Petitioner also seeks grant of furlough for a period of 3 weeks for maintaining social ties.

However, after making some submissions, counsel for the Petitioner, states that he wishes to seek parole instead of furlough. 3.
