O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 341/2024 By way of the present petition filed by the parties jointly, under section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act 1996, the parties seek extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal for a further period of 02 months.

The record shows that the arbitral proceedings commenced with the preliminary hearing held on 13.08.2018 and the matter has been pending ever since.

The record further shows that subsequent to a consensual extension, 05 subsequent extensions have been granted to the learned Arbitral Tribunal by orders of the court.

Learned counsel for the petitioner draws attention to e-mail dated 22.03.2024 whereby the learned Presiding Arbitrator has sought extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by 02 months. 6.

The last mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal expired on 31.03.2024.

Considering that the petition has been filed jointly by the parties, the prayer is allowed, thereby granting to the learned Arbitral Tribunal extension of mandate by 02 months from today to render the award. 8.

It is further observed that any arbitral proceedings conducted after the expiration of earlier mandate shall stand validated and regularized. 9.

The petition stands disposed-of in the above terms. 10.

Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed-of.
