The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to the competent authority to provide police protection to the petitioners and his family members.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that the petitioner is a police informer and has been assisting the police in apprehending criminals in various cases. The petitioner alleges that the current SHO at PS Sagarpur is not have a favourably disposed towards with the petitioner. She states that police officials from PS Sagarpur had brutally beaten the petitioner because he had objected to the release of two persons on bail. She states that a complaint in this regard was also made to the Lt. Governor on 08.08.2020 as well as senior officials of Delhi Police. It is in this context, the petitioner prays that the petitioner may be provided police protection.

material facts. In particular, the petitioner has concealed his involvement in certain cases. He states that the kalandra was also filed and the petitioner was produced before the Magistrate on 27.07.2020. He submits that no complaint was made by the petitioner regarding any police brutality before the concerned Magistrate. Further, Mr Singh states that the petitioner is also involved in two NDPS cases that are currently being inquired into. However, the petitioner has not been arrested yet. 4.

In view of the aforesaid, this Court considers it apposite to direct the concerned DCP to examine the petitioner's complaint regarding alleged police brutality. The concerned DCP shall take necessary action, if the complaint is found to be, prima facie, correct after preliminary inquiries. 5.

No further orders are required to be passed in this petition. The same is disposed of.
