This is a petition under Section 29A (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time of 12 months w.e.f. 01.04.2024 for concluding the arbitral proceedings. 2.

It is stated that since the project is old, both the petitioner and the respondent took considerable time in obtaining the documents. 3.

Issue notice.

Mr Bhadra, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and states that he has no objection to the petition being allowed. 5.

For the reasons noted above, I am of the view that sufficient cause has been explained for the delay.

The petition is allowed and the time for concluding the proceedings and passing of an Award is extended for a period of 12 months w.e.f. 01.04.2024.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
