This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator for making and publishing the award. 5.

It is stated that there was a bereavement in the family of the learned Sole Arbitrator and hence the petition for extension. 6.

Issue notice. Ms. Dauk, learned counsel for the respondent appears on advance notice and has no objection to the petition being allowed. 7.

I am satisfied that there is sufficient cause as to why the arbitration proceedings could not be completed by 31.03.2024. For the said reasons, the petition is allowed and a further period of three month is granted from 01.04.2024 for completing the arbitration proceedings and making and publishing the award. 9.
