This writ petition has been filed by the Petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking the following reliefs:- "1. Issue a Writ / Order/ Direction to the respondent no. 1 and 2 to provide the police protection to the petitioner and protect the life, limbs and liberty of petitioner and his family members from the respondents no. 3 to 7.

2. Issue a Writ / Order/ Direction to the respondent no, 2 to register the F.LR. against the respondent no. 3 to 7 under the provisions of law and investigate the matter."

Respondents No.3 to 7 are represented by Mr. Saurabh Suman Sinha, learned counsel, who has joined Court proceedings virtually. 3.

There are some allegations and counter-allegations made in the writ petition and the reply filed on behalf of Respondents No.3 to 7. 4.

Status report has been filed on behalf of the State where the whole chronology of the allegations, litigations, etc. pertaining to the agricultural land in question have been given in a narrative form. At the end of the status report, it is stated that the matter in question is a property dispute and is of civil nature. It is further stated that as far as the request for police protection to the Petitioner is concerned, neither any complaint nor any PCR calls, etc. have been received in the past at PS: Sunlight Colony under whose jurisdiction the Petitioner resides, however, if any Police help or assistance is required, Petitioner may approach the Beat staff of the concerned area, who has already been sensitized and briefed to be in constant touch with the Petitioner.

Without going into the merits of the dispute between the parties which relates to an agricultural land and is in the realm of a civil and a private dispute and without commenting on the allegations and counter-allegations on merits, the stand of the State is taken on record that the Beat staff has been duly sensitized and briefed in the matter. Additionally, the Beat staff of the concerned area will provide his mobile number to the Petitioner on which the Petitioner is free to contact in case any genuine help or assistance is required and on receiving any such call, the concerned Beat Constable will render the necessary assistance and take requisite action. 6.

It is made clear that this Court has not commented on the merits of the dispute between the parties with respect to the agricultural land in dispute and it is open to the parties to take recourse to other remedies available in law.
