This petition has been filed by the petitioners under Article 226 Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, praying for the following reliefs: "A. Issue an appropriate writ, direction or order directing the respondents to provide safe houses to the petitioner no.2 and 3;

B. Issue an appropriate writ, direction or order directing the respondents to provide protection to the petitioner no.2 and no.3."

It is the case of the petitioners that the petitioner nos.2 and 3 belong to Jodhpur, Rajasthan and presently reside in Delhi. They both are major and are known to each other. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in violation of the 'Standard Operating Procedure on Safe House and Special Cells for Couples of Inter-Caste Faith Marriage' (in short, 'SOP') issued by the respondents, appropriate action was not taken on the complaints/representations filed by the petitioners. 4.

Notice is accepted by Mr.Rahul Tyagi, the learned ASC, on behalf of the respondents.

He submits that the mobile numbers of the concerned SHO and Beat Constable have also been shared with the petitioners and in case they perceive any threats from any person, they may contact the said officers on those numbers. He assures that prompt action shall be taken, in case any complaint is received from the petitioners. 7.

He further assures the Court that prompt action shall be taken on the complaint/representation of the petitioners, strictly in accordance with the 'SOP' referred hereinabove, and decision thereon communicated to the petitioners.

The decision of the respondents on the complaints/ representations made by the petitioners shall be communicated to the petitioners latest by 06.05.2024.
