By way of the present petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, the petitioners seeks directions to expedite the trial in FIR No. 94/2011 registered under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC at Police Station Roop Nagar, Delhi.

He submits that the petitioner No.1 and petitioner No.2 are aged about 85 and 84 years respectively, and considering the same, this Court vide order dated 16.12.2022 passed in W.P. (Crl.) 2571/2022 requested the Trial Court to expedite the trial and conclude the same within a period of 6 to 8 months.

matter has been adjourned from time to time on account of non-appearance of the complainant.

Perusal of the order dated 06.03.2024 reflects that on that day noting, the continued absence of the complainant, she was summoned through the concerned DCP.

Mr. Jha, learned APP for the State, on instructions, states that efforts would be made to ensure that the complainant is produced before the Trial Court on the next date of hearing.

The Trial Court shall make an endeavour to conclude the trial within a period of one year from today.
