By way of the present petition, the petitioner has invoked the jurisdiction of this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 seeking direction to the respondent no. 1 to provide protection to the petitioners from respondent nos. 2 to 5.

The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioner no. 1 is the wife of petitioner no. 2, who got married on 15.02.2025 and their marriage was registered on 17.02.2025 before the Registrar of Marriage, Shahdara, Delhi.

He further submits that the respondent nos. 2 to 5 are the relatives of petitioner no. 1 and are probably unhappy with the said W.P.(CRL) 1362/2025 By:NEELAM 10:52:33

marriage, therefore, the petitioners seek protection from the said respondents due to the threats being received from them. 4.

Issue notice.

Ms. Rupali Bandhopadhya, the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of GNCTD, accepts notice and submits that the complaint was received on 24.04.2025 and thereafter, the Investigating Officer (IO) visited the premises of the petitioner but they could not be located there. The IO further tried to contact the petitioners on their mobile phone as well as their Advocate, however, nobody responded.

The learned Standing Counsel submits that, in case, the appropriate particulars as well as the mobile numbers are provided, they are willing to give protection to the petitioners by providing the mobile number of the SHO and of the Beat Constable to whom they can call in case of any emergency.

The petitioners undertake to provide their mobile numbers and submit that they are residing at the same address as mentioned in the present petition.

Let the numbers of the SHO as well as of the Beat Constable be provided to the petitioners in the due course of the day so that in case of any emergency, the petitioners could contact them. 9.
