The petitioner has invoked the jurisdiction of this Court under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 ('BNSS') seeking directions for a speedy trial in case FIR No.343/2022, for the offences punishable under Sections 392/394/411/34 Indian Penal Code ('IPC') registered at Police Station Nand Nagri in the case titled "State vs. Anshul Singh". The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the main complainant has not supported the case of the prosecution and the trial is not being conducted expeditiously. Thus, he submits that in these circumstances, a direction be issued to the learned Trial Court for expeditious disposal of the petition.

The learned Additional Standing Counsel on behalf of respondent no.1/State, who appears on advance notice, submits that the charges were framed against the petitioner by the learned Trial Court vide the Order dated 30.01.2024 and total 10 witnesses have to be examined and out of 10 witnesses, one witness has been examined completely and the examination of second witness is underway and the next date of hearing before the learned Trial Court is 09.05.2025.

In view of the above, the learned Trial Court to expeditiously dispose of the case FIR No.343/2022 for the offences under Sections 392/394/411/34 IPC registered at Police Station Nand Nagri. 7.
