A Petitioner under Article 226 of Constitution of India read with Section 528 BNSS has been filed with the prayer for issuing directions to Respondent No.1 for giving protection to Petitioner No.1 and 2 and to save them from any mis-happening.

It is submitted in the Petition that Petitioner No.1 is 18 years old while The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

Petitioner No.2 is 22 years old and know each other since childhood and both have decided to marry, till they become fit for marriage. They have decided to live in a live-in relationship. However, when Petitioner No.2 approached her family members about her relationship with Petitioner No.1, her family members got angry and gave her beatings. The parents of Petitioner No.2 have locked her inside the house and even threatened to kill the Petitioners and throw their bodies in Yamuna River. Because of the outrage of the family of Petitioner No.2 and strong opposition from them, the Petitioner No.2 eloped from her house with Petitioner No.1 on 03.04.2025 and since then they are residing in a rented accommodation. They have got a Certificate of Live-in Relationship executed on 03.04.2025. Both the Petitioners are major capable of taking their own decision, but they have fear of their life from the family members of Petitioner No.2. Hence, the present Petition has been filed.

On advance Notice learned APP for the State appeared. 6.

It is submitted by learned APP for the State that there is no Complaint made ever by the Petitioners to any Police Station about their alleged threat except one Representation dated 15.04.2025 which has been made to DCP, New Seelampur, Shahdara generally stating that there are threats from the family members. It is, however, submitted that whatever directions are issued, shall be complied with.

Submissions heard and record perused.

The Petitioners are stated to be adults and are in a live-in relationship, which according to them is not acceptable to Respondent No.2 to 5 who are the family members of Petitioner No.2. In view of the submissions, the Petitioners to furnish the address where they are residing and accordingly The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

the concerned SHO is directed to provide protection to both the Petitioners and ensure that no harm befalls either of them, particularly, from the parents or the family members of the Petitioner No.2. 9.

The SHO shall provide his contact details as also of the Beat Officer of the area, where the Petitioners are residing. 10.

The Beat Officer shall take regular rounds and call upon the Petitioners for the next two months to ensure that both the petitioners do not face any threat.
