The present petition has been filed by the petitioner under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

Mr. Shubham Jain, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that in the prayer clause, inadvertently the extension has been sought for a period of six weeks from 28.01.2026 till 10.03.2026. Actually, the extension ought to have been sought for six months w.e.f 01.07.2026, since the mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal is expiring on 30.06.2026.

He further submits that the matter is at the stage of final arguments and it will take some time.

Issue notice.

Mr. Jitendra Kumar Singh, learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondent accepts notice. He states that, he has no objection to the petition being allowed.

I am satisfied that sufficient cause has been shown for extending the mandate of the learned Tribunal.

Accordingly, the mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal is extended for a period of six months w.e.f 01.07.2026.

The petition stands disposed of.
