The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that he be released on interim bail in FIR No. 1091/2017 under Section 302/201 of IPC registered with PS Vijay Vihar.

The allegation against the petitioner is that he had murdered his sisterin-law (his brother's wife) as certain doubts were raised regarding her character. It is alleged that the head of deceased had been severed off, her hands were chopped off on the wrists and her breasts were sliced off. These body parts were thrown in a tempo passing by. 4.

which the offence was committed, the Trial Court has declined to entertain the petitioner's application for bail.

This Court is informed that the trial is at its fag end and only a few witnesses remain to be examined. Considering the gravity of the offence and the stage of the trial, this Court does not consider it apposite to allow the present petition.

The apprehension that granting bail to the petitioner at this stage presents a flight risk, cannot be stated to be unfounded. 7.

The petition is, accordingly, dismissed.
