The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:- "a) Issue a Writ in the nature of for issuance of direction to respondent 1, 2 and 3 to protect life and liberty of petitioners and to restrain the private respondents i.e. Respondent no.4 to 6 not to harass or interfere in the peaceful married life of the petitioners & allow the present petition;

b) Issue appropriate directions to respondent no.1 to 3 to provide protection to life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of Respondent no.4 to 6 and their other family members."

It is averred that Petitioner no.1 converted to Hinduism on 21.03.2020 and the petitioners were married on the same date. The said marriage has not been accepted by the family members of Petitioner no.1. 3.

The petitoners allege that the family members of Petitioner no. 1 have been threatening the petitioners. The petitioners are permanent residents of West Bengal and it is stated that they fled from their native place in view of the threats received from them.

The petitioners had also lodged a complaint with the PS Nihal Vihar on 03.08.2020 and it is stated that they are living under constant fear. 5.

Mr Ramesh Kumar from PS Nihal Vihar has joined the proceedings. He states that the parents of petitioner no.1 had come to Delhi looking for their daughter (petitioner no.1) and were desirous of taking her back to West Bengal. He states that the petitioners were not found at the address provided by them.

Considering the averments made in the present petition, this Court directs the petitioners to appear before the SHO, PS Nihal Vihar on 17.09.2020. The concerned SHO shall evaluate the threat perception and provide them such protection as he considers necessary. 7.

No further orders are required to be passed in this petition. The same is allowed in the aforesaid terms.
