The present petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 has been filed by the Petitioner for extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

Material on record indicates that an Arbitral Tribunal was constituted by this Court vide Order dated 04.02.2020 passed in an arbitration petition being ARB.P. No. 609/2019. It is stated that pleadings were completed on 10.05.2021. It is stated that repeated extensions to the mandate have been granted by this Court on various dates in petitions filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is going to expire on 01.06.2026, and therefore, the present petition has been filed for extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal. 3.

Learned Counsel appearing for the Respondent states that she has no objection if the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended. 5.
In view of the fact that substantial time and money has been spent in the proceedings, and the arbitration proceedings is at the stage of final arguments, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal till 31.12.2026, so that the award can also be pronounced on or before 31.12.2026.

The petition is disposed of, along with the pending applications, if any.
