OMP(MISC)(COMM) 198/2020 This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 for extension of time for the learned Arbitral Tribunal to complete the proceedings and render the award. It is contended by learned counsel for the petitioner and agreed to by the learned counsel for the respondent that the learned Arbitral Tribunal has

directed the parties to file the written arguments and has reserved the matter for Award.

On the other hand, Ms. Madhu Sweta learned counsel for the respondent states, in view of the order passed by the Supreme Court in Suo motu Writ Petition (Civil) 3/2020, In Re Cognizance For Extension of Limitation, on July 10, 2020, this petition should not have been filed. She also states that since a petition has been filed for extension, she has no objection for this Court to extend the time with effect from 22nd June, 2020.

Noting the submissions made by learned counsels for the parties and the fact that the learned Arbitral Tribunal has reserved the proceedings for Award, time to complete the proceedings and render the Award is extended till 31st December, 2020 with effect from 22nd June, 2020. Petition is disposed of.
