The petitioner seeks a direction upon the respondent - Sansad TV to continue him in its services as a Channel Assistant (Finance and Accounts), It is submitted in the writ petition that the petitioner, after retirement from the Border Security Force, applied for appointment in Rajya Sabha Secretariat w.e.f. 22.07.2016. He has been working in the said post since, albeit on a contractual basis. His contract has been extended from time to time. The latest extension was granted on 29.06.2024, and was valid until today, i.e. 30.04.2025. 2.

the petitioner, that the petitioner has approached the Court only at this stage as extension orders were typically issued at the last minute. 3.

It is also submitted that the petitioner has made a representation to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat on 02.04.2025 for consideration of his case for re-employment, but no decision has yet been taken. 4.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties, I am of the view that the appropriate order in this case is to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation within a fixed time frame. 5.

Mr. Sandeep Kumar Mahapatra, learned counsel for the respondent, states that the representation will be disposed of within the next two weeks.

In view of the aforesaid, the writ petition will be treated as a representation, and will be decided within a period of two weeks. 7.

In the event, the petitioner is extended in the service of the respondent, the period taken to decide the representation will not be treated as a break in service.

The petition, alongwith the pending application, is disposed of. 9.
