The present petition has been filed under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ("Arbitration Act") on behalf of the petitioner seeking extension of time for making the Arbitral Award in the matter of arbitration petition between "M/s Techno Compact Builders

Versus

Railtel Corporation of India"

before the Arbitral Tribunal comprising of Sole Arbitrator Justice (Retd.) Kurien Joseph, former Judge of Supreme Court of India.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that final arguments have already been heard by learned Arbitrator lastly on 25th December, 2025. 3.

However, it is submitted that the period for rendition of Award, as per The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. The Order is downloaded from the DHC Server on 01/06/2026 at 12:02:32

Section 29A(1) of the Arbitration Act, came to be expired on 04th September, 2025, which was extended with mutual consent till 03rd March, 2026, as noted in order dated 21st December, 2025. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in the hearing dated 04th May, 2026, the learned Sole Arbitrator recorded that the Award was ready for pronouncement. However, it was noted that the time for rendition of Award had expired. Thus, the present petition has been filed seeking extension of time for rendering the Award.

Issue notice. Notice is accepted by learned counsel appearing for the respondent, who submits that he has no objection if the present petition is allowed.

Accordingly, considering the submissions made before this Court, it is directed that the time period from 03rd March, 2026 till today stands regularised.

Further, extension of three (03) months is granted to the learned Arbitrator, starting from today, for passing of the Award. 8.
