The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent nos. 1 and 2 (Commissioner of Police and SHO, PS Kalyan Puri) to provide protection to the petitioner from respondent nos. 3 and 4 (respondent no.4 is the son of the petitioner and respondent no.3 is her daughter-in-law).

The petitioner states that her husband has expired and she has filed an application under Section 22 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 read with Rule 22 (3)(1) of the Delhi Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules, 2009 (as amended from time to time), before the Senior Citizen Maintenance & Welfare Tribunal, Signed By:DUSHYANT RAWAL Location:

East District, L.M. Bundhnagar, Shastri Nagar for evicting respondent no.3 and 4 from her property bearing No. E-51, 1st Floor, Gali No.2, East Vinod Nagar, Delhi- 110092. He states that a considerable time has since elapsed and no orders have been passed in the said application. It is also contended that since the petitioner has made a complaint under the Delhi Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules, 2009, she apprehends that respondent nos. 3 and 4 would harm her. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the petitioner is aged about 75 years and is living in constant fear.

Considering the above, this Court directs the concerned authority (concerned District Magistrate) to consider the petitioner's application filed under Section 22 of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act, 2007 read with Rule 22 (3)(1) of the Delhi Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2009 as expeditiously as possible. The concerned District Magistrate shall also consider whether further protection is required to be provided to the petitioner. 5.

In the meanwhile, the concerned SHO (SHO, PS Kalyan Puri) is directed to ensure that that beat staff/poilce officials check on the petitioner's welfare on a regular basis. He shall also provide the telephone number of the concerned beat staff, in order to enable the petitioner to contact them, in case of any eventuality.
