The present Petition under Section 29A(3) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, has been filed by the Petitioner for extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal.

Material on record indicates that the Arbitral Tribunal was constituted by this Court vide Order dated 02.06.2025 in OMP(I)(COMM) No. 234/2025. Learned Arbitrator entered reference on 23.01.2026. Pleadings have yet not been completed. Learned Counsel for the Petitioner draws the attention of this Court to the procedural Order dated 04.04.2026 wherein the learned Arbitrator has noted that the six months period within which the pleadings were to be completed came to an end on 17.01.2026 whereas the The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. claim was filed on 29.01.2026. Statement of defence has yet not been filed. Section 29A(3) of the Arbitration Act provides that the parties can extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a further period of six months. The extended period would come to an end on 02.07.2026. The present Petition has been filed for extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal. 3.

Learned Counsel appearing for the Respondent on advance notice states that the Respondent does not have any objection to the present Petition.

In view of the facts of the present case, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal till 01.07.2027, so that the award can be pronounced.

The petition is disposed of, along with the pending applications, if any.
