By way of the present petition filed under section 483 read with section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, the petitioner seeks extension of interim bail granted vidé order dated 04.05.2026.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits, that vidé order dated 04.05.2026, the petitioner was granted interim bail by the learned trial court on the ground that his wife had to undergo surgery for acute fissures with piles; which interim bail was subsequently extended vidé orders dated 13.05.2026 and 18.05.2026. 3.
Counsel further submits, that in view of his wife's medical condition, the petitioner filed an application seeking further extension of interim bail before the learned trial court, which has however been dismissed by that court vidé order dated 25.05.2026.

It is submitted, that the petitioner's wife underwent surgery on 20.05.2026; and was discharged from hospital on 21.05.2026, with the doctors having advised her 10 days complete bed rest and follow-up thereafter.

Counsel states, that the petitioner's wife is still in the post-operative recuperating phase and needs the petitioner's support during this period.

Counsel submits, that the extended period of petitioner's interim bail ran-out yesterday i.e. 25.05.2026; and it is in these circumstances that the petitioner is seeking further extension of interim bail by 20 days. 7.
Issue notice.

Ms. Richa Dhawan, learned APP appears for the State on advance copy; accepts notice; and submits, that the petitioner has been out on interim bail since 04.05.2026, and that it is the admitted position that his wife has now undergone surgery and is back home recuperating. Learned APP submits, that accordingly, no further extension of interim bail is warranted.

Be that as it may, by way of abundant indulgence and considering the facts that the petitioner's wife has undergone surgery as recently as on 20.05.2026, the present petition is disposed-of, extending the petitioner's interim bail by 01 week with effect from today, subject to the same conditions as were imposed by the learned Sessions Court initially vidé order dated 04.05.2026.

The petition stands disposed-of in the above terms. 11.
