The Petitioner's limited grievance in the present petition is that Appeal No. 08/DC/NW/2019, preferred under Section 64 of the Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954, has remained pending since the year 2019. The Petitioner accordingly seeks a direction for expeditious disposal of the said appeal.

A perusal of the order sheets placed on record indicates that the appeal has remained pending for several years and has been adjourned on numerous occasions. In the opinion of the Court, the prolonged pendency of the statutory appeal warrants intervention. Accordingly, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, Respondent No. 1 is directed to decide Appeal No. 08/DC/NW/2019 as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of two months from today.
