This petition has been filed by the petitioner with the following prayers:
"In view of the above mentioned facts and circumstances it is most respectfully prayed that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to pass the following orders:- a) Issue the writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ against the respondents and in favour of the petitioner directing them to grant the benefits of the MACP in the appropriate pay scale of the Inspector i.e. 9300-34800 with Grade pay 4600 from the date of completion of 30 years of continuous service to the petitioner alongwith all the arrears; and/ or b) May pass any other order/ orders as this Hon'ble Court may think fit and proper in the present facts and circumstances of the case."

a conceded position that MACP Scheme was introduced w.e.f September 1, 2008. The petitioner had retired on November 30, 1996, i.e., much before the MACP Scheme was introduced.
