Present petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. has been filed to challenge the legality and correctness of an order dated 23.05.2015 by which the pass-port authorities were not directed to renew the passport for a specified period. 2.

I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and have examined the file. The petitioner is facing criminal proceedings in case FIR No.508/2003 under Sections 498A/406 IPC PS South-East Saket. Vide order dated 11.05.2004, he was granted anticipatory bail CRL.M.C. 435/2016

in the said proceedings subject to the condition that he would not leave India without prior permission of the Trial Court. Impugned order reveals that the petitioner moved an application before the Trial Court for renewal of the pass-port which was to expire in June, 2015. Learned Metropolitan Magistrate allowed the application and even directed the pass-port authorities to renew it. Apparently, the Trial Court was under no legal obligation to direct the pass-port authorities to renew it for any specified period. It is for the pass-port authorities to renew it as per rules. The directions by the Trial Court to renew it for specified period are uncalled for. It is relevant to note that earlier also similar request made by the petitioner was declined by Trial Court vide its order dated 05.07.2014.

The petition lacks merit and is dismissed.
