It appears that the petitioners have directly approached this court praying for the following reliefs:- (i) Issue a writ, order or directions in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent to supply the electricity connections to the respective premises of the Petitioners.
(ii) Pass any other order or orders as may be just and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case.

It is noteworthy that there exist alternate grievance redressal mechanisms under the Electricity Act, 2003 in the form of Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum and Ombudsman.

already been resorted to and the concerned authority may not have jurisdiction to grant the relief in view of the letters of the concerned respondent.

Needless to state that all those aspects can be looked into by the concerned authority and if the petitioner is able to make out a case for electricity connection, the concerned authority shall direct accordingly.

Reserving the liberty to approach the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum and the Ombudsman under the Electricity Act, 2003, the writ petition stands disposed of along with the pending application.
