This petition is filed on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('1996 Act') seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitrator by a period of 06 months. 2.
Disputes having arisen between the parties, this Court in ARB. P. 1100/2022, vide order dated 09.01.2023 appointed a Sole Arbitrator. Pleadings were completed on 06.09.2023 and since the initial mandate was expiring, the learned Arbitrator, with mutual consent of the parties, extended the mandate by a period of 06 months upto 06.03.2025. It is stated that arbitral proceedings are at the stage of final arguments and in this backdrop, extension of 06 months is sought.

Ms. Shiva Lakshmi, learned CGSC, on instructions, submits that Respondent has no objection to the extension of mandate of the learned Arbitrator by 06 months.

Accordingly, with the consent of the parties and considering that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of final arguments, mandate of the learned Arbitrator is extended by a period of 06 months from 09.05.2025 and period between 07.03.2025 to 08.05.2025 is regularized. 5.
Petition is allowed and disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
