The present petition is filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (CrPC), essentially being aggrieved by the delay in trial in relation to FIR No. 556/2011 dated 14.11.2011, registered at Police Station Jagat Puri, for offences under Sections 186/353/332/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC).

The petitioner appears in person through video conferencing and states that charges were framed way back in the year 2017.

He submits that not even a single prime witness has been examined till date.

He submits that the petitioner is a practising Advocate and has been falsely implicated in the present FIR and the pendency of the present FIR is causing great prejudice to the petitioner. 7.

The learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State, at the outset, submits that he has no objection if the directions are passed to the effect that the trial be concluded expeditiously. 8.

Without commenting on the aspect whether the trial has been delayed at the instance of the accused or any other person, this Court considers it apposite to request the learned Trial Court to proceed expeditiously with the trial in FIR No. 556/2011 since the same has been pending for more than a decade now. 9.

No further orders are required to be passed.

Needless to state that the petitioner is at liberty to approach this Court in case any grievance remains.
