This petition has been filed praying for the following relief: "a. Pass an order issuing an appropriate Writ thereby directing the Station House Officer, Police Station: Shaheen Bagh to provide the Petitioners herein with Police Protection against the Respondent No. 2."

The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are facing threats from the respondent no.2 as the petitioners have made complaints against the respondent no.2 for the unauthorised construction that has been carried out by the respondent The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. no.2. He places reliance on the judgement of the Supreme Court in State of West Bengal & Ors. v. Biswanath Mitra, (2015) 14 SCC 599, stating that the petitioners should be granted free police protection as there is a genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioners. 4.

Notice is accepted by Mr. Rahul Tyagi, learned Additional Standing Counsel (Crl.) for the respondent no.1. 6.

The learned Additional Standing Counsel, on instructions, submits that disputes arising out of small issues is a regular occurrence between the petitioners and respondent no.2, who are neighbours. Cross FIRs have also been filed by them against each other. Be that as it may, as and when a complaint of any threat being perceived by the petitioners is received by the respondent no.1, the same shall be duly investigated by the respondent no.1 and appropriate action in accordance with law shall be taken. 7.

The learned Additional Standing Counsel submits that the mobile numbers of the concerned officers are already with the petitioners, and if so required, can be shared again. 8.

In view of the above submission, no further direction needs to be issued except binding the respondent no.1 to the same. 9.
