Issue notice. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent accepts notice.

The petitioner has filed the present petition requesting that the necessary correction be made in respect of the name of the petitioner's father in her application form (ID No. 201701838) for being appointed as a guest lecturer. The petitioner apprehends that her application would not be considered because of an inadvertent error in spelling her father's name. Whereas the correct name of the petitioner's father is 'Balbir Singh Bhardwaj', it has been incorrectly filled in the application as 'Balbie Singh Bhardwaj'.

It is seen that the application form indicates that no correction would be permitted.

The petitioner is seeking correction in the application form only for the reason that she apprehends that the same would be rejected on account of the aforesaid error. This Court is of the view that the minor typographical error, which has no material bearing on the petitioner's application, ought not to come in the way of the petitioner being considered for the post applied for.

In view of the above, it is directed that notwithstanding the error in the petitioner's application form, the same would be considered on merits.

The respondent may also consider recoding the correct name of the petitioner's father if and when the petitioner is selected. 6.

It is also open for the petitioner, on the strength of this order, to make a representation to the concerned authority for the rectification of the application.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 8.
