Present application has been filed on behalf of the Petitioner seeking waiver of the cost amounting to Rs. 1 lakh (Rs. 1,00,000/-) imposed by this Court vide order dated 8th May, 2024.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner - Applicant states that Petitioner is a young lawyer, fresh into litigation practice, enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi. He states that the Petitioner is residing in Delhi and has no source of stable income in his litigation practice and is dependent on his parents for most of his basic needs. He states that the Petitioner's father is also engaged in a private job and earning around Rs. 25,000/- per month. 3.

He states that the Petitioner is also a judicial services aspirant and has also appeared in the preliminary exams of Delhi Judicial Services and Jharkhand Judicial Services in 2023-24. He states that being a resident of Delhi himself, the Petitioner was anxiously following the developments after the arrest of Chief Minister of Delhi, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal and he thought the best way forward in the given circumstances would be to approach this Court through the said petition and seek relief as sought therein. He also states that however, immediately upon the first hearing of the matter, he realized that he had made a mistake.

In the application filed by the Petitioner, he has vowed not to repeat the said mistake in future. It has further been averred that he is willing to do community service in the interest of welfare of the society as this Court may deem fit and appropriate.

Since the Petitioner has acknowledged his mistake and offered an unconditional apology, the cost of Rupees one lakh (Rs.1,00,000/-) imposed on the Petitioner is waived. He is, however, directed to do community service in accordance with the directions to be given by Delhi State Legal Services Authority ('DSLSA'). A copy of this order is directed to be forwarded to DSLSA.
