By way of the instant petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR No. 506/2016, registered at Police Station Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi, for the offences punishable under Sections 354/354B/506/509/341/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC').

The petitioners and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (IO) concerned.

Brief facts of the present case are that on 07.12.2016, a PCR call was made by the respondent No. 2 alleging that the petitioners were abusing The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
respondent No. 2's grandson and the person accompanied him and upon her arrival at the place of incident, the petitioners started abusing and physically assaulting the Respondent No. 2. Thereafter, respondent no. 2 had got registered the present FIR before the Police Station Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi. After investigation, the chargesheet was filed before the concerned Court.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by petitioner that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties. The statements of the parties to the said effect have been recorded by the learned Joint Registrar (Judicial) on 05.05.2025. Respondent no. 2 further states that he has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. The petitioner further states that she has no objection, if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 8.
Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 506/2016, registered at Police Station Hazrat Nizamuddin, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 354/354B/506/509/341/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed, subject to petitioners depositing cost of Rs.10,000/- each with the Advocates Welfare Fund, Saket The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
Courts, New Delhi within a week.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. Pending applications, if any, also stands disposed of. 10.
