By way of the present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 54/2008, registered at Police Station Maurice Nagar, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 147/149/186/353/427 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC'). 2.
The petitioners and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court. They have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO).

Issue notice. Mr. Aashneet Singh, the learned APP accepts notice on behalf of State.

PM, a large number of students including some of Law Centre-I led by the petitioners had barged into the office of the respondent no.2 and had started shouting and calling for explanation about LL.B. students who have been detained for shortage of attendance in LL.B. II/IV/VI semester examinations which were being held. It is stated that the petitioners had started pressurising respondent no.2 to resign from his position i.e., Dean of Faculty of Law and after a lot of shouting and threat, petitioner no.2 had taken the pen stand from respondent no.2's table and smashed the same with full force against the wall. It is stated that the petitioner no.2 had thrown away all papers from the respondent no.2's table and petitioner no.1 smashed two telephone sets on the floor along with a printer, electricity bell, voltage stabilizer and overturned one table and many other items kept on the table including books, very important papers and material. On the complaint of respondent no. 2, the present FIR came to be registered. 5.
It is stated that both the parties have now amicably settled the present matter vide Mediated Settlement Agreement dated 28.04.2025, entered between them, and their statements to the said effect have been recorded by the learned Joint Registrar (Judicial) on 05.05.2025. 6.
On a query made by this Court, respondent no.2 who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that he has entered into compromise out of his own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent no. 2 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties. Respondent no. 2 further states that he has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 7.

purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 8.
Accordingly, FIR bearing no. no. 54/2008, registered at Police Station Maurice Nagar, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 147/149/186/353/427 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed, subject to petitioners depositing a sum of Rs. 5,000/- each with the Student Welfare Fund within a period of two weeks from date.
