The present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the BNSS (Section 482 of the CrPC) seeks the following prayers:- "(a) issue a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent to release the petitioner on furlough for a period of three weeks. (b) Pass any other or further order(s) which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case and in the interest of justice."

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the latter has moved an application seeking furlough before the competent authority on 24.03.2025 which has not been decided so far. 4.

The present petition is disposed of with directions to the competent authority to decide the said application for furlough within a period of 10 days. 5.
