The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner, which is an institution recognized by National Council for Teacher Education ("NCTE") since the year 2004, for conducting the Primary Teacher Training/Diploma in Elementary Education Course, with an intake capacity of one (01) unit, i.e., fifty (50) students.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that due to a decline in the number of admissions in Diploma in Elementary Education Course, the Trustees of the Trust running the petitioner-institute requested for No Objection Certificate ("NOC") from the State Authority for the The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
withdrawal of recognition for the institute and the same was granted by the said State Authority. However, subsequently, the petitioner-institute decided not to withdraw its recognition.

Accordingly, the petitioner remains a recognized institution, till today, since there has been no order of withdrawal of the recognition issued from the respondent-NCTE.

It is further submitted that the Office of the Director of Primary Education, Gujarat has published an advertisement on 21st June, 2026, announcing the schedule of the admission process for First Year Diploma in Elementary Education Course for Academic Year 2026-27, wherein, only recognized institutions on the official website of the NCTE are permitted to submit an application for participating in the said admission process on or before 30th June, 2026.

However, it is submitted that the name of the petitioner-institute is not included in the list of recognized institutions, which is available on the official website of the respondent-NCTE.

Issue notice. Notice is accepted by learned counsel appearing for the respondents, who submits that the respondents shall verify the position. 7.
Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of, with a direction to the respondents to verify the status of the petitioner-institution. If upon such verification, the petitioner-institution is found to be a recognized institution, the respondents shall update the status of the petitioner-institution in the list of recognized institutions, available on the official website of the NCTE, forthwith.

Further, the respondents are also directed to send communication in this regard to the Department of Higher Education, Government of Gujarat. The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

With the aforesaid directions, the present petition, along with pending applications, is disposed of.
