By virtue of the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the petitioner seeks direction for releasing him on furlough/ parole for a period of three weeks and/ or direction to the respondent for deciding his application for furlough dated 09.02.2026. 2.

Learned ASC for the State, without adverting to the merits involved, submits that the said application shall be decided within a period of four weeks.

As such, considering the statement made hereinabove, the respondent is directed to decide/ dispose of the said application dated 09.02.2026 of the petitioner as earliest as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks.
