CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SURESH KUMAR KAIT
O R D E R
% 18.12.2019 During the hearing on 01.08.2019, learned APP for the State submitted that an incorrect statement was made before this Court on 21.06.2019 when interim protection was granted to the petitioner that he had no criminal antecedents. Whereas, as per the nominal roll, the petitioner is involved in as many as 20 cases and has been convicted in 6 cases and several cases are still pending trial/investigation. Moreover, the petitioner has been declared as a bad character of the area. Learned APP submits that even after the petitioner been granted the interim protection, two more cases under NDPS Act (being FIR Nos. 253/2019 and 294/2019, both under Section 21 NDPS Act, PS - Crime Branch) have been registered against him.
In view of the criminal background of the petitioner, I am not inclined to grant the anticipatory bail in the present case. The petition is accordingly dismissed.
